The three major US stock indexes rallied their way to welcome gains, as lower oil prices buoyed investor sentiment.

Send Out the Clowns
  
Is anyone who lived through and remembers the 1970s working at the Federal Reserve or the US Treasury Dept? How about the White House’s Council of Economic Advisors?

You wouldn’t think so the way the feds are clowning around amid the current economic and financial mess.

If you’re like me, you’ve noticed that inflation has been getting downright nasty. Prices-- not just for petrol and food products--are ramping up. Headline inflation, including food and fuel, is running around 4.4 percent, but core inflation is now climbing precariously closer to 3 percent.
